Directory of employment services

The New York Work Exchange will soon be releasing a directory of employment services, listing over 100 programs devoted exclusively to consumers of mental health services. This will be the first of its kind for New York City. It will detail the nature of the services offered, along with locations, and transportation information on each and every program.

In preparing this directory the NYWE staff has reviewed NYC-based programs and employment program descriptions from other parts of the country. The result is a unique set of program categories, which we call approaches.

We are also posting a comprehensive list of the services offered through these programs. Programs offer different services, based on philosophy, funding, history. One program may not offer all of these services, but the directory will indicate which services are offered at each program.

Finally, we have posted the job types that programs assist consumers in obtaining.

Please browse through these lists. When the directory is released this website will have an electronic copy available for your use; until then we thought you would find this material informative.
